Feed the Need

Check back here for the latest updates on COVID-19 and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Our plans are fluid as new information and recommendations arise. We will do our best to communicate changes in a timely manner.

Most Critical Needs:

  • Financial assistance because of reduced volunteers and increased expense. Please consider donating today, or better yet, become a sustaining donor by committing to recurring donations.
  • Donate groceries or grocery store gift cards so guests can prepare nutritious and delicious meals from their Guest Suite until our Family Meal Program is reinstated.
  • Snacks can provide comfort and a boost of energy—donate pre-packaged snack items and help us keep our pantries stocked.
  • Cater a meal from a local restaurant and help support their business at the same time. Restaurant gift cards are welcome as well.

Gift Cards and snacks can be mailed or dropped off outside the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City in the designated receptacles at

730 Hawkins Dr., Iowa City, IA 52246 or call 319-356-3939

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our partners, supporters, and families who have helped to make this transition. We are proud to be a part of such a compassionate, supportive, and knowledgeable community.

We extend a heartfelt thanks to our RMHC Global community, the Johnson County Department of Public Health, and our hospital partners for their input and continued guidance to ensure we will provide the safest environment for our guest families.

To ensure we are able to maintain social distancing, we will be accepting donations in a Drop Box outside of the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City, by mail, or online. Currently we are unable to allow visitors into the facilities. Further, our volunteer program, onsite service group projects, and our Family Meal Program are suspended until further notice.

Our 2 Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are open on an order structure to maintain social distancing policies and visitor protocol.

We will continue to monitor the situation and make any necessary adjustments as new information and new recommendations become available. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns at 319-356-3939 or info@rmhc-eiwi.org
