Our annual “Fore the Families” golf outing is one of RMHC-EIWI’s largest fundraisers each year and has raised over $970,000 since its inception. This event will take place on June 5, 2023 at Finkbine Golf Course, and it is co-sponsored by Iowa City- Thursday Noon Rotary Club.

Every registered child at the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City receives a free toy before they go home! Shopping in our” Toy Closet” is always a special moment for families as kids browse a huge collection of dolls, puzzles, trucks, and so much more.

Through the Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, we help remove the barriers that separate families while they receive treatment for a critically ill or injured child.
We’re more than just a place to stay—our Family Rooms provide the essential comforts of home: warm beds, hot showers, home-cooked meals, kitchen and laundry facilities.

Mealtime at the Ronald McDonald House helps kids and families maintain the routine of family dinners, shown to be a key to in building resiliency, lowering the risk of depression, and encouraging family conversation. Having that small piece of normalcy helps families cope and ensures that healthy family members have the nutrition and support they need to take care of themselves, so they have the strength to care for their sick child.
Illness doesn’t ask if you are ready. No parent expects to see their child in the hospital. When our families come to our House and Family Rooms, many don’t know how long their stay will last or when they can go back home.
