Prepare a Meal

share the comfort of a home-cooked meal

The families we serve look forward to a home-cooked meal after a long day at the hospital. Whether you prepare a fresh dinner, help stock our freezers, or sponsor a meal, you generosity provides comfort, nourishment, and one less thing for families to worry about.

We offer several opportunities to support our meal program, making it easy for business, families, churches, community organizations, and individuals to participate.

Prepare a Meal: Gather your group to prepare a meal for families at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City or the Ronald McDonald Family Room at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Stock the Freezers with Love: Volunteers groups prepare freezer-friendly entrees, sides, baked goods, or desserts in our commercial kitchen. These support our team in providing families a warm, homemade dinner on evenings when a volunteer group isn’t scheduled, ensuring they always have something nourishing and comforting to enjoy.

Sponsor a Meal: Would you like to provide a meal for our families but aren’t able to volunteer in person? Consider sponsoring a meal for our families. With a donation of $250, our staff will take care of the planning, shopping, preparation, and service. Your gift ensures families can enjoy a warm, nourishing meal during a challenging time.
