March Volunteer Spotlight – Bri Bentler

Tell us about yourself.
I live in Iowa City and I am a senior at City High! I play softball and I love watching sports, especially of the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and Iowa Hawkeyes. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities and dog sitting. I look forward to attending the University of Iowa in the fall!
How long have you been an RMH volunteer?
1 year
Why do you volunteer at RMH?
I like how great it feels to help other people and I am able to meet so many different people at the Ronald McDonald House. Giving back to my community is so important and I am also getting my Silver Cord through volunteering at the House.
What is one of your favorite volunteer memories?
On one of the many snow days we had this year, I came to the Ronald McDonald House to volunteer and I ended up staying the whole day volunteering and it is one of the best days I have had at the House.
What would you tell someone if they were interested in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House?
Volunteering at RMH is truly a joyful experience. The staff (and other volunteers) have amazing personalities and they always make it fun and rewarding. The best decision I made was choosing to do my Silver Cord hours at the Ronald McDonald House and I would recommend any high school student to do their hours here!
